Critical reading, writing, and revision, with an emphasis on reflective inquiry and academic writing conventions. Students produce a portfolio of revised essays.

Prerequisites: Level 2 earned via ACT, SAT, Guided English Placement (GEP), or English Placement Test (scores from 2019 or earlier), or grade of C or better in ENGLISH 95.

Course Rules: May not be taken cr/no cr. Not open to students who have taken ENGLISH 100. ESL 118 counts as a repeat of ENGLISH 101.
